Who are the Anjorins?

Our Story

We (Segun and Gaby) were both students when we met in Munich, Germany, in 1972. We got married in 1975 and had our first daughter, Funmi, in 1977. After we both completed our studies, we decided to leave Germany for Nigeria in 1978.
Segun was posted to the North of Nigeria for his NYSC (the National Youth Service Corps, a compulsory service year for all Nigerian graduates) and so we spent a year in Kaduna state. We were both able to find jobs in Zaria (in Kaduna state) and decided to stay in the North for the time being, even though Segun is a Yoruba man from the West of Nigeria. In 1980 our second daughter, Moji, was born in Zaria, followed by our son, Tony, in 1984.
After 13 years in the North, we moved south-west to Abeokuta in Ogun state, in 1992. We set up our own private business - Fumot - a computer centre offering courses in computer appreciation and word processing, providing hardware supply and maintenance, software development, and consultancy. Fumot was one of the first of its kind in Ogun state.
As our children chose to attend universities in Germany, we moved to Frankfurt in 2000 to support the family after having lived 10 years in the South-West and thus in sum, more than 20 years in Nigeria. Now that all our children have completed their studies and are married with children, we are preparing for and looking forward to our retirement.
